Solution of Laminar Boundary Layer and Turbulent Free Jet With Neural Networks
A novel neuro-based method is introduced to solve the laminar boundary layer and the turbulent free jet equations. The proposed method is based on cellular neural networks, CNNs, which are recently applied widely to solve partial differential equations. The effectiveness of the method is illustrated through some examples.

متن کاملInstability of streaky structure in a Blasius boundary layer
An experimental study was performed to analyze the stability of localized streaky structure in a Blasius boundary layer. An artificial streaky structure was created by using suction or blowing through a thin spanwise slot at the wall. The velocity gradient generated by the suction or blowing was controlled by a damper. The Reynolds number based on the displacement thickness d1 was Red1 =280 at ...
متن کاملComputation of nonlinear streaky structures in boundary layer flow
In this work, the Reduced Navier Stokes (RNS) are numerically integrated, and used to calculate nonlinear finite amplitude streaks. These structures are interesting since they can have a stabilizing effect and delay the transition to the turbulent regime. RNS formulation is also used to compute the family of nonlinear intrinsic streaks that emerge from the leading edge in absence of any externa...
متن کاملstreaky structure in a turbulent boundary fayer on a cylinder
A near-wall streaky structure has been identified in a turbulent boundary layer on a cylinder in axial flow. A platinum wire looped around a cylinder moving in a tank of quiescent water was used to generate hydrogen bubbles near the wall of the cylinder. The streaks that were visualized correspond to high-speed streaks identified by Kline et al. [J. Fluid Mech. 30, 741 (1967)]. The appearance, ...
